Multi Incident claims are claims that occurred from one claim or catastrophic claim such as a car accident that injures multiple employees. When these claims occur there are rules that limit the overall claim amount and subsequent mod impact that is used in the experience rating calculation.
In NCCI states the loss amount for all claims will be capped at two times the state per claim accident limitation and two times the split point.
In NY only the two largest claims are counted.
You'll need to do this manually in Mod Advisor and here is how:
Navigate to the claims tab in Mod Advisor.
Select Edit Columns and turn on the option for Claim Method. Where this column appears depends on whether you select default or advanced view.
For the claims that should be grouped, change the claim method from State Per Claim Limitation to Multi Incident Claim Limitation. Do this for all claims that apply to the Multi Claim.
A new tab will appear called Multi Claim. Navigate to the Multi Claim Tab and create a new group name. This can be anything. From there select the claims that are grouped.
This will apply the multi incident claim rules and update the mod value. These will now appear on the bureau worksheet as grouped claims as well.
